Trying to avoid conflict is a common reaction for people. The fear of having a bad outcome may drive you away from wanting to address the issues. Avoiding conflict is a people-pleasing reaction—you may not want to seem problematic or troublesome.

While conflict may be easy to avoid while awake, it can still meet you in your dreams.

These dreams come from the thoughts, emotions, and realities you face in your waking life.

Dreams About Conflict:

Dreams about conflict commonly pertain to something you are trying to avoid or fight. Maybe there is a decision you know you should make but have been hesitant.

The conflict in your dream can also signify a setback or roadblock in your progress.

Dreams of conflict can also depict your fear of losing something or someone. Pick up clues in your dream to better understand these suppressed feelings.

Note that being on the losing side of conflict doesn’t always mean that things will play out that way. Your subconscious may try to understand and absorb the information your conscious mind sends.

Different dreams about conflict may bring curiosity. Here are some common dreams and what they may symbolize:

Losing a fight:

Dreaming about losing a fight may be a bad sign. These dreams commonly pertain to bad decisions and the consequences you’ll face for them. Dreaming of losing a fight can be taken quite literally—you could experience a loss of some sort.

Someone breaking into your house:

These dreams are commonly about your character. There may be a characteristic trying to raise awareness in your subconscious mind. Others often realize these characteristics, but you don’t realize them yourself.

You should take time to look at the actions and demeanor of the person breaking into your house to make sense of your dream.

Being threatened:

Dreams of being threatened are anxiety dreams. You may have deep fear concerning a situation or person. If you have dreams of being threatened, take time to remember clues and resolve the conflict you have been avoiding.

Spouse cheating:

Dreams about your spouse cheating can reflect the health of your relationship. Dreaming about cheating isn’t trying to say that your spouse is cheating on you, but there may be some things that need work in your relationship to avoid future conflict.

These dreams can also signify a suppressed insecurity about something in the relationship.

Avoiding someone:

Take a look at the person you’re avoiding. If you recognize the person, it most times means you don’t trust them or feel comfortable around them.

This dream could also symbolize the things about yourself that you need to change but haven’t addressed. The person in the dream could represent the change you need to make.
